Landmark events

Beyond our regular activities of reading groups and weekly seminars, this April we have been working on a couple of significant events that will take place next June, such as the Annual Workshop with the Scientific Committee and the PhD Day. Meanwhile, all LINCS members are involved in other significant activities during the month of May.

Composition of the ComEx

We are delighted to announce that Francesca Bassi has officially joined the LINCS Executif Commitee, representing System X.

Preparing for AlgoTel et CoRes

Many LINCS members are preparing their participation in AlgoTel et CoRes, the two conferences where Francophone academic and industrial communities from around the world share their expertise and recent findings regarding telecommunications network issues

You will find Andrea Araldo and Leonardo Linguaglossa representing IMT; Sébastien Tixeuil, Maria Potop-Butucaru, Timur Friedman, Serge Fdida, and Alexandre Pham will be representing SU; François Durand and Marc-Olivier Buob will be there representing Nokia Bell Labs. Additionally, you will find Fabien Mathieu (Swapcard). Everyone representing the LINCS as well ! I hope they won’t forget to take nice pictures for our next newsletter.

Preparing for RESSI

PhD Guillaume Nibert is also presenting his paper on RESSI, the scientific event that gather and animate the Francophone community of academic and industrial researchers, as well as researchers in education related to network and information systems security.

Lincs newcomers

Ahmad Nasser (Nokia Bell Labs)

Ahmad is a graduate of the Artificial Intelligence international track at Paris Saclay with a previous background in robotics. He has lately been working on the development of generative models for computer vision applications with L’Oreal R&I in Paris. His Ph.D. topic is related to the distributed training of machine learning models with heterogeneous architectures. He will be advised by Prof. Giovanni Neglia (INRIA NEO) and Dr. Fabio Pianese (Nokia).

Ludmila Courtillat-Piazza (IMT)

She is a second year master’s student at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Rennes. Her research interests are ICT for sustainability, resilience and mobile networks. She completed the AMIS (Algorithms and Modelling at the Interface of Sciences) master’s at the University of Paris-Saclay.

Zarrouk Mohammed El Hedi (Sorbonne Université)

He does his internship at Télécom SudParis working on the GRIFIN project, supervised by Sébastien Tixeuil, Grégory Blanc et Solayman Ayoubi.

What’s coming next!

Daniel Kofman will present the PEPR – Future Networks programme – May 15

We are organising the Annual Workshop with the Scientific Committee, which will take place on 27-28 June. Please save the date if you are a LINCS member.

The Fun Zone

Automatic Pizza

If you come to LINCS regularly, you may have noticed the pizza stand located at the entrance of the Telecom Paris premises. It is « La cucinetta de la mamma » and we tasted the pizza for you ! It is not bad, to try at least one in a lifetime, maybe for a pizza-apéro picnic !

The occupants of Room 4C10

The day when we welcomed three new interns in the room while a new PhD was welcomed in Room 4C14 (and he is not in the picture) !

Room Hedy Lamarr (4C06)

This is our social room. As you might know, Hedy Lamarr is the winner of the online survey to name our shared scientific exchange room after a female scientist. She was an Austrian-born American actress (1914 – 2000), inventor of the Frequency-hopping spread spectrum, a technique used in GPS, WIFI, and Bluetooth.
